Comparison · MoneyThumb

MoneyThumb converts the statement. This underwrites it.

If you only need statement files as spreadsheets, a converter is the right tool and MoneyThumb has done that job for a long time. The gap opens after the conversion: a lender still has to decide whether the deposits are real revenue, what is already being debited by other funders, and whether the file can be defended if someone asks. That is the part SheetParser is built for.

First file free, up to 10 pages · paid packs run up to 600 pages per file · files shredded after conversion

Where a converter stops and an underwriting report starts

Both tools end with a spreadsheet. Only one of them answers the question the desk is actually paid to answer.

Conversion is the starting point

You get the Excel ledger — and on the same pass, the lender scorecard built from it: day-weighted ADB, true operating revenue with exclusions listed, NSF history.

Stacking is part of the report

Known MCA funder debits are grouped into positions with average debit and estimated monthly burn, instead of being left to a manual search through the ledger.

The balance proof is the product

Every row is re-tested against opening + deposits − withdrawals = closing. A break is flagged where it happens, and nothing is silently corrected.

The funder can check it

A verification certificate binds the document hash, the extracted data and the balance proof, on a public page that costs the funder nothing and needs no account.

Months are chained

Month N closing versus month N+1 opening, with gaps and isolated edits flagged — the check a single-file converter has no reason to run.

Browser, not installed software

No desktop install and no per-seat licence. Buy report packs per file; credits never expire; use it from whatever machine the file lands on.

Inside every report

The same report on every file, so two analysts cannot arrive at two different answers.

  • Transaction ledger rebuilt row by row, each row traceable to its source page
  • Running-balance tie-out: opening + deposits − withdrawals = closing, recomputed after every row
  • Day-weighted average daily balance over the actual statement period
  • True operating revenue, with every excluded deposit listed rather than silently dropped
  • Existing MCA debits by funder name and cadence, with possible matches flagged
  • NSF and overdraft history, plus a printable underwriting memo

How it works

STEP 1

Bring the same file you would give a converter

PDF, scan or phone photo. Free tier runs one file per day up to 10 pages; packs open files up to 600 pages.

STEP 2

Get the ledger and the decision inputs together

Running-balance tie-out, ADB, true revenue, stacking, NSF and continuity are produced from one extraction, so they cannot disagree with each other.

STEP 3

Send the report and the verification link

The funder checks the certificate for free; you keep the Excel/CSV/QBO export for your own file.

SheetParser vs a statement converter

Compared on the job a broker or credit desk has to finish, not on raw extraction features.

Questions a broker actually asks

Can I still get the Excel and QBO files I would get from MoneyThumb?+

Yes. The ledger exports to .XLSX (one sheet per table), .CSV, Xero-format CSV and QuickBooks Web Connect (.QBO), with unique FITIDs so re-imports do not duplicate transactions.

Do you do everything MoneyThumb does?+

No. MoneyThumb is a mature converter with document-type coverage beyond statements. SheetParser is deliberately narrower: bank statements for lending decisions. If your job is bookkeeping conversion, a converter is the better fit.

What does it cost?+

Per file, never a subscription: $79 for 10 files, $199 for 30, $499 for 100, each file up to 600 pages. The first file each day is free up to 10 pages.

Is the report accepted by funders?+

It is decision support, not a credit decision. What it gives the funder is evidence: the ledger, the balance proof, the exclusions, and a hash-bound verification link they can check themselves.

Do you keep the statements?+

Files are shredded after conversion and never used for training. Paid accounts can keep their reports in their own history and delete entries at any time.

Run the next borrower file

Upload the statement, get the ledger and the lender scorecard, and send the funder a link they can verify without an account.
